Animal osteopathy can help a variety of animals with musculoskeletal issues. This page provides information on what to expect from animal osteopathic treatment.

Osteopaths at MSC Osteopathy are committed to helping restore and maintain the health of your animal to the best of their ability.

Common animals treated

A very wide range of animals can benefit from osteopathic treatment. Moreover, osteopaths at MSC Osteopathy are qualified to treat any animals, not just horses and dogs. We see other animals, including cattle, sheep, goats and chickens.

Treatments

Treatment for less common animals will depend upon the species, whether the animal is a quadruped or biped. However, osteopaths will apply similar techniques: manipulation, mobilisation, soft tissue massage.

What to expect from animal osteopathy?

As is with any animals, your osteopath will need to gain veterinary consent from the appropriate person prior to the initial consultation. Once this is obtained, then the osteopath will take a case history with the owner/carer and provide appropriate treatment thereafter. The number of treatments needed will depend upon the complexity of the case and what activities the animal does.

Please get in touch with us if you think your animal may require treatment but is not listed on our website.

Benefits of animal osteopathy

  • Improve overall biomechanics
  • Increase performance
  • Increase pain-free exercises
  • Stress-reduction
